Baby Kittens

Aren't they so cute!

They all liked to huddle under people's feet.

This is them coming to climb up on my legs.

This was Blaine's little friend. He liked to follow Blaine around.

This is the bush we found them under.

Wednesday morning at about 8am Blaine was reading in the baby's room, which is in the front of the house, and heard some tiny meows outside the window. He didn't think much of it and carried on. Then, Wednesday evening, Blaine called me outside, and there on our porch were 6 adorable baby kittens! They were so tiny and their little meows were so adorable. We sat with them for a while unsure really as to what to do. Our neighbor came over and we decided something had to have happened to their mom because they were really little and they mom wouldn't abandon them at this young of an age. Our neighbor got some food and we got some cat milk from the grocery store and we worked on feeding them. Another lady on a walk stopped by and gave us lots of kitten knowledge. We all sat out there for close to 3 hours playing with and feeding the kittens. Then, Blaine and I put them in a bin with a towel and their food and brought them inside for a good nights sleep. They slept the whole night with out us ever hearing them! It was much to our surprise obviously.

Friday morning we took them to the animal shelter to see if they had room for them but they hadn't opened up yet. So we returned home still with 6 kittens. We sat on the porch with them for a while just hanging out and 2 of our neighbors came by to take a look. One of our neighbors stayed and chatted with us for about an hour and ended up taking 2 of the kittens home! About 3 hours later, she came back and took 2 more! I couldn't believe it. But it was great that 4 of the kittens were able to stay together and go to a good home. Now, we only had 2 kittens to find homes for. So we went to the grocery store and set ourselves up with a "free kittens" sign to see if anyone wanted to take them. Well, of course everyone WANTED to take them, but declined! There was one girl who did want them though...both of them! She was so excited and we were happy to see those two get to stay together as well. It was a good run we had with the baby kittens. They were so darn cute and fun to hold and feed and listen to meow. But we don't want any more for a while! We've got something else coming that will have 200% of our attention! :)
