Our first visitors

This is somewhat of an old post...but worth posting none the less! We had our first visitors out here in Boulder City. Jody brought her kids down to spend some time with us in our new home. It was so fun to take them around Boulder City and to especially hear their opinions of the place! 

First they came to our house and had a quick little tour of the place.

So Jody lives in North Las Vegas where things are a little bit bigger and nicer. Some of my favorite comments and events from her adorable kids after their trip to our house were:

***Elani asked if they could watch some tv. Well, we don't have any tv channels because our bunny ears and converter box don't get more then PBS. So I had to let her down and offer a movie. In the midst of this conversation Elijah (8 yrs. old) asked me with full sincerity..."Are you like poor?". It was so cute. He just hasn't seen a young married couple preparing for a new kid and medical school's home before! 

***As they drove around our neighborhood, with houses that are around the same size as ours, they were mesmerized at how small everything was! They thought it was just a cute little town. Elise mentioned though "They have a normal sized Burger King though". Remember...they are from Las Vegas!

Well, later on in the day we went on the Nevada Southern Railway Train Road. This was something Blaine and I had wanted to do since we first came out here. It was a 45 minute train ride with a great view of the "moonscape" of Nevada. Sadly, not much to look at. The train only went about 15 mph (that might be pushing it even). There were some nice older folk serving as our train engineers and escorts who had all kinds of things to share about our experience. It was fun to finally go and do this especially with 4 very entertaining kids.
