The move

This is kind of old, but I wanted to write a little bit about our move down to Boulder City. On Friday May 29th Blaine's dad drove in from LA with his big van to help us move down to Nevada. We didn't start packing stuff out of the house until Saturday though. Saturday morning we woke up and got right to work. Larry, Blaine's dad, and Blaine headed to Uhaul to get our trailer and I stayed and finished up some last minute packing things. Steve, Blaine's brother, came over at about 8:30 determined to get as much done as he could in the little amount of free time he had that day. He ended up hauling out all of our boxes by himself!!! It was quite incredible and extremely nice of him to be so willing to help us out however he could.

Once Larry and Blaine got back they started putting everything in the van and the Uhaul trailer while I cleaned the house. We were completely moved out and cleaned by 1:30pm!!! We couldn't believe it. We thought we were prepared and that the day would go fast, but we never thought it would go that fast. A big thank you to Blaine's brother and dad for being so willing and ready to help us out so much (especially since I am not a whole lot of help these days! :).

We slept at Steve and Tricia's house Saturday night and Sunday night since we were all moved out. Then, Monday morning we loaded up and hit the road. I drove the Suzuki, Blaine drove the Geo, and Larry drove the van and trailer. We figured we would take the drive slow since I was in need of a few more than normal necessary stops. We were on the freeway by about 9am and made it to Parowan UT by about 11:30 where we stopped for lunch. Then, we kept moving. With our slow and cautious driving and my needed bathroom/stretch breaks we didn't get to our new place until 7pm! It took us so long! We had know idea it was taking us that long. It was a nice drive though and uneventful which was important. We got everything in the house in about an hour, went to dinner with Larry, and then Larry hit the road to California.

For the past week we have been getting ourselves settled and moved in. We have some projects to do here and there, but are feeling like we live here so that's nice!

We really like Boulder City and are excited to be here for a few years. We would love any and all visitors!!! :)
