Camping...Finally

We have finally gone camping this summer! It has been almost exactly a year since we last went camping due to our "fair weather camping only" rule. We met up with some of our great friends that we haven't seen for a while (Eric, Allison, Chris and Jennie). We headed up to American Fork Canyon and actually stayed in the same place we stayed last year...odd huh?! We found our camping spot, set up tent, set up the fire and got cookin' dinner! Blaine brought our great portable camping grill and started cooking hot dogs, hamburgers, and steaks. It was great to have time to do all this in the light of the day too! We pretty much ate for the rest of the night (cookies, licorice, chips, starbursts, etc)! It was great :). 

At one point we got a little nervous. It was super dark outside and we were all just sitting by our campfire when someone not belonging to our group walked up with a flashlight. Then we realized it was 2 cops! Apparently they were just doing their rounds making sure everyone was doing ok. They were quite entertaining! They stayed for about 15 minutes just crackin' joke after joke. It was pretty funny. 

When it got late enough after some great discussions around the campfire we headed to bed. Blaine and I slept great in our tent. It felt so good to be sleeping on the mountain! We woke up bright and early and had pancakes, sausage, and orange juice...yes hard core camping right?! We then decided to go hike Timpanogos Cave. Much to our disappointment though you have to have an appointment! So, we went to Cafe Rio instead :). It was a great camping trip and definitely got us ready for at least a few more while the weather is still warm. Unfortunately we didn't take any pictures so you'll have to use your imagination!
