Our One Year Anniversary

So, this was briefly mentioned before, but we thought we'd expand on it a bit. This past month we celebrated our 1 year anniversary. We weren't sure how to best celebrate on our low budget and in the lingering winter, until we thought of going to Moab, UT! So, on May 3rd, after Megan finished with her Dance Company rehearsal and Blaine finished a practice MCAT, we got in the car and headed to Moab. Naturally, Megan slept the first hour or so and Blaine contently drove while admiring his map of the route they were taking. The drive was nice because we could spend time together without having to or being able to worry about the other things going on in our lives. 

Once we got to Moab we checked into the Super 8 motel which was really nice. We went to the pool first off. It was so nice! It felt like we were really going resort style! That night we walked down the main street of Moab and just enjoyed the people and places. We did get ourselves some ice cream which was nice. The next day we had breakfast at the "Love Muffin" shop (how appropriate huh?!) then went of to rent some bikes for a nice day of bike riding. Well, much to our surprise it costs a lot of money to rent bikes. That idea was scratched. We drove around and admired some rock art...but that didn't last more than one piece of rock art...we weren't that impressed. So, we headed into Arches National Park. We did a few hikes and drove around seeing the beautiful scenery. It was a lot of fun and really beautiful. That night we ate at Pasta Jay's. Well actually it was like 4pm and because of it was kind of an odd time we were the only people in the restaurant! The food was so good!!! We even got a slice of cake to remind us of our wedding cake (we ate our top tier on our 1 month anniversary...we couldn't wait a whole year!) It was a great way to end out our celebration. 

After spending the day together enjoying Moab, we headed back to Orem. We are so happy to have been married for one whole year and feel like if we made it this far then we are pretty much set! :)
