Halloween festivities

This year for Halloween since Nolan had more of understanding as to what was going on we tried to pack it all in.

We started by going to a pumpkin patch up the street from Blaine's school. Nolan loved it! He was trying to push all of the pumpkins over with his big muscles. We let him ride this mechanical swing ride and he loved it. He just sat there enjoying it and when it was over he tried to walk right back in and get on the swing again. It looked like he might fall asleep on it he was so relaxed.

Look at that face!

Trying to push the pumpkins over.

He was hard to keep up with!

Having so much fun!

Next we went to a Halloween carnival/festival at a rec center in Henderson. They had a lot of fun little activities for the kids to do and Nolan was able to do most of them.

Decorating cookies but mostly just eating the frosting.

Cotton Candy...he wasn't a huge fan.

He's a natural! This is his little baseball player costume.

On the Saturday before Halloween we went on a Halloween train ride. The Southern Nevada Railroad does train rides during the weekend and for Halloween they decorated the train, gave out candy and some of the train attendees dressed in costume. It was Nolan's first train ride and he thought it was pretty cool. It was fun to have him dressed up in his costume waltzing around the train.

Just such a stud!

He's so happy to be on a train dressed like a baseball player.

Getting a gold coin from Jack Sparrow! This is at the train station.

Checkin' out the train.

Here he is with one of the train car attendants. He wasn't so sure!

Finally, Halloween day! We never had time earlier in the week so we finally carved our pumpkin. Nolan helped us scrape the pumpkin out and even ate some...he wasn't a fan. Then that night we took Nolan trick or treating around the neighborhood and he thought it was so cool. He figured out that we go to the houses with their lights on and that if he would hold his bag out people would put candy in it! He did great walking around and we were quite impressed with how quickly he picked up on how it all worked. He also enjoyed having the trick or treaters come to our door. At one point he even grabbed his trick or treat bag and walked outside following them...ready for more! I think he'll have even more fun next year.

Naked...carving a pumpkin...what a life.

Trying to bust into the candy.

Checkin' out all of his goods!

The family...I was his team mom and Blaine was his coach.

Halloween 2010 was a great success here in Boulder City!
